Study medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons.
A specialist health-sciences university.
RCSI is a Dublin-based medical institution and one of five recognised Colleges of the National University of Ireland. The Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences incorporates five schools, providing both undergraduate and postgraduate education. RCSI is a culturally diverse, international organisation with alumni in almost every country in the world.
The School of Medicine offers both an undergraduate programme and a 4-year postgraduate programme. Graduates are conferred with a Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO) and Licentiates of the College of Physicians of Ireland and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (LRCP & SI).
Teaching is largely systems-based with the early introduction of clinical case studies and data interpretation. Early Patient Contact facilitates integration of the basic sciences and is followed by a structured clinical programme.
Applicants do not choose the 5- or 6-year tract themselves — the RCSI Admissions Committee places students in the appropriate programme based on their prior academic subjects and grades.
Systems-based teaching, clinical from day one.
