Our Story

More than a society.
A community built across five universities.

Est. 2007 · Dublin · Cork · Galway

The Singapore Medical Society of Ireland was founded in 2007 by a small group of Singaporean students pursuing Medicine and Dentistry abroad. What began as a handful of friends sharing meals across Dublin has grown into a nationwide network spanning every Irish university that trains Singaporean healthcare professionals.

Today, SMSI represents 200 undergraduates and 600 alumni — a living bridge between Singapore and Ireland. Our members study medicine, dentistry and allied Healthcare disciplines at TCD, UCD, UCC, UoG and RCSI.

We are proudly student-run and independent. Every event, every mentorship pairing, every welcome dinner for a nervous freshman is powered by volunteers who remember exactly what it felt like to land in a new country far from home.
"We aren't just classmates — we're the people who show up when it matters."
Our Mission

Three pillars. One purpose.

What we do

03

Represent
